Dear beautiful you..
April is here…
Does everybody else feel that life goes by so quickly. I hope you had a beautiful Easter and had time to rest relax and be with people you loved. As I reflect back into March I feel my heart full - I had a wonderful opportunity to share yoga at a beautiful retreat in Glastonbury over equinox - we joined a group meditation at Challis Well with over 300 people, meditating for world peace and on the last day of March I shared a mini retreat at Marldon Hall to welcome in the abundance of spring. I so adore holding these workshops to honour the cycles of life. To sit in circle, we share and we hold each other up. There is so much magic when women come together.I feel deeply blessed to hold this space for us to contemplate the seasons and what they bring… if we follow nature we can embrace what each season is here to show us. Spring is all about abundance and putting our energy behind our dreams.Spring brings with it, a sense of hope, aliveness, and new beginnings. With each eager sunrise we re-emerge, reignite and reenergise. As with nature, we begin to arise and renewWe have longed for your light, and for your joy Welcome back spring. It feels good to have you back in in our lives. What seeds of abundance are you planting in this coming Season.
As we move fully into spring April brings a tremendous opportunity for transformation. I like to think of spring as the beginning of the year from this perspective. Moving in alignment with the rhythm of the seasons creates a harmonious quality to life that just makes sense.
Our bodies are ready to stretch, move and gain strength, building towards a more active time of the year. Now, as always, is a lovely time to come to class
I decided to hold a sunrise yoga session at Oddicombe on Easter Monday. It was so beautiful to witness the Sun emerging from the ocean. It was cold, but we warmed up with herbal tea, cake and a small fire before having a dip. It was my first this year, and it made me feel truly alive. I will be holding a Beltaine sunrise yoga session on Saturday, the 18th of May at Oddicombe Beach with tea, cake and fire. 6 am - 7.30 am. Sunrise is at 6.13 am. See flyer attachedThis ancient seasonal celebration is the cross-quarter day that marks the mid-point in Spring. We are now half way between the Spring Equinox & the Summer Solstice. It is all about connecting into the element of fire and transformation. It will be beautiful, and we will connect with our own fire on the beach and a lovely swim if you feel.Yesterday I got to be part of the prison Phoenix trusts workshop sharing yoga to prisoners at Exeter prison. The prison are rolling out a year contract to share in prison to enhance the well-being of inmates. It was quite an experience to be inside. There is great growth that happens in uncomfortability, my class was very disruptive and challenging, but at the end of the class I could see a difference in the way the practice of yoga made them feel.
I am now preparing to go to teach in Thailand - I leave this Friday for 2 weeks and I’ll be teaching at the Wonderment retreat at Kohphangan. I’m pinching myself that I have been asked to be part of this incredible team, but there is much work to be done in leaving my home and family behind. There is a sense of guilt and a little worry, but I have wonderful support from friends and family to take care of my family, whilst I am away. I’m so grateful for this opportunity to be in paradise, sharing my passion of yoga. I am a nomad so travelling makes me feel fully alive. I’m grateful beyond words for this opportunity. There will be no classes now until Monday, the 22nd of April. Beach yoga will return from the 22nd of April from 7 am to 8 am at Meadfoot Beach so please put a note in your diary.Normal classes will resume until the 5th of May when Park yoga takes over and the Sunday morning class will be outside.
I’m also available for wonderful bespoke holistic treatments using all organic products - I tailor my treatments to your specific needs after giving you an in-depth consultation. There’s nothing like receiving some self-care love. Spring is also a wonderful time to treat yourself to a holistic therapy. After winter or bodies can become quite sluggish and a bespoke treatment using essential oils, sound healing and Reiki can bring you back into balance and renew your energy for spring. All details are on my website.
