Dear yogis
The wheel turns once again...
We are approaching the Autumn Equinox this Sunday 22nd Autumn when the sun rises and sets exactly twelve hours apart. The trees are starting to draw in, fledglings are fully grown and fending for themselves, and the swallows have left our shores. The berries are ripe, and fruit is in abundance. Nuts are falling to the floor and the harvest is being gathered.
The Equinox is a time of balance, reflection and preparation: At this moment, we sit poised ready to tip towards the long nights. It is an opportunity to take stock and celebrate what has already been achieved, with awareness that there is still much to do before the long nights drawn in.
We turn into the dark half of the year; the inward-focused, Yin-energy side of the Wheel of the Year.
We are shifting out of a season where so much of our energy is focused on our outer lives, into a season of introspection.
A time for exploring our inner lives; diving into our shadows, exploring our dark spots.
In summer we worship the sun, this season we are remembering how to appreciate the darkness.
Autumn is the season of magic & mystery.
It's a season of deep inner growth if you are brave enough to explore your own shadows & darkness, if you're ready to let the old, outgrown parts of yourself die.
I hope this shift in seasonal energy feels balancing & comforting to you, in your life right now. I hope the changing season feels nurturing, and the idea of autumn scarves & hat sounds cozy.
I'm sending you so much love & strength for the weeks & months to come. May this be a season of enlightening inner exploration for you!
